the chewing gum works are motivated by the idea of creating a tangible recording of an ephemeral moment. by placing the gum in the freezer after it has been chewed, the shape is frozen and the instant solidified. In a further working step, the object is cast in bronze and the unrepeatable, ephemeral marks left by the artist's teeth on the mundane material gum are preserved.
